Mick McCarthy was given a warm welcome by shareholders at Town’s PLC AGM in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite last night. The PLC owns 12.5% of the club and has 3,790 shareholders, although only 100 or so were present at the meeting. |

Bryan Klug doesn’t believe the Blues having applied for Category Two academy status will leave them at a disadvantage despite Norwich and clubs in London aiming for Category One. This summer sees a reorganisation of youth football with the introduction of the Elite Player Performance Plan. |

Town have confirmed Bryan Klug’s return to the club as academy director, as we reported yesterday. In February, TWTD was first to reveal that the Blues were trying to bring the 51-year-old back to Playford Road. |

Town have announced the retirement of Academy head of recruitment Malcolm Moore. The 65-year-old has worked for the Blues for more than 20 years and helped in the discovery and development of the likes of Darren Bent, Connor Wickham, Owen Garvan, Liam Trotter, Darren Ambrose, Josh Carson and Byron Lawrence amongst many others. |

Chief executive Simon Clegg says he and owner Marcus Evans are still backing manager Roy Keane, despite the current run of five successive league defeats. The former British Olympic Association chief, speaking after Tuesday’s PLC AGM in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite, believes that the Blues can still make the play-offs this season. |

Boss Roy Keane and chief executive Simon Clegg are likely to face some stiff questioning from shareholders at the PLC AGM which is being held in the Sir Bobby Robson Suite this evening. Around 3,000 supporters are shareholders in the PLC, which owns 12.5% of the club since Marcus Evans’s takeover in December 2007. |

Striker Kevin Lisbie has confirmed that he is training with Town’s youth players, as reported by TWTD a week ago. Lisbie, who has a year left on his Blues deal, looks certain to leave Portman Road this summer and says he would be interested in joining Millwall. |

Town faced injury time woe in South Yorkshire for the second time in five days as former Blues loanee Jon Macken’s goal gave Barnsley a 2-1 victory at Oakwell. The Tykes had gone ahead in the first half through Iain Hume, who later smashed a penalty against the bar, Liam Rosenior equalising for the Blues before the break. |
Clarke and Irish Bow Out Fri 23rd May 2008 23:30
Billy Clarke and the Irish U21s crashed out of the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia on Friday afternoon having lost their semi-final 3-1 to Australia. Clarke played in all four of Ireland's games. |
